I would have let this go if I had not just watched a commercial that said Sherwin Williams was having a sale. On Saturday, August 27, 2016, I stopped in the Sherwin Williams store to pick up a can of spackle. There were several customers in the store, and only one person working. I picked up the can of spackle and went to the register with cash in hand (six dollars). The employee was mixing 12 cans of paint for a customer. She finished with his order, packed it neatly in boxes, and helped him take the paint to his car. When she returned, two gentlemen that were waiting told her to take care of me. She didn't hear them. She knew what they were there for (they were painting a church) and went to the back and retrieved their 4 5-gallon buckets of paint. One of the gentlemen helped her put the one bucket in the mixer (they only needed one of the 4 buckets mixed..Two yellow, two white). When she rang them up, she said she thought I was with them. They told her no. Meanwhile, I was still standing at the counter with the can of spackle and cash in hand. After the two men left, she then asked if she could help me. I handed her the can of spackle. She asked if I had an account. I told her no. She said "You have to have an account to purchase anything here". I said "Oh for the love of God" and turned and walked out of the store. I had been standing at the counter for over 20 minutes, cash in hand. As I was leaving the store, I could hear her speaking to the woman who was waiting behind me, telling her I needed an "account" to purchase anything there.
